Community Primary School, Southern Africa, Namibia
Mwanjawanthu Community Primary School, located in the remote and underserved Eastern part of Zambia, provides education to children close to their families. The children are vulnerable, as this area has a great deal of poverty.
The free education policy by the Government of Zambia has seen overwhelming numbers of learners in classrooms with many hosting an average of 120 to 130 children handled by one teacher!
Improving classroom space will help spread the children, achieving more manageable teacher to pupil ratios for the school. The children will then benefit from higher quality education and stand the chance of achieving whatever they wish for in the future.
Additionally, the school currently is host to differently abled children with both physical and intellectual challenges. Here, the main challenge is the lack of an appropriate classroom designed fit for their needs, and including different teaching aids. On site, there is an unfinished classroom block which, if finished, will provide facilities to accommodate the needs by these special children.
We hope you feel you can donate to completing this extra classroom. Your support will help us to complete the block will and will add a smile to the faces of the children. Any donation, no matter how big or how small will give them a better start in life; a chance to learn in a conducive environment and hopefully, live out their dreams for the future !
