HOPE Village, Windhoek, Namibia

Hope Village Namibia, established in March 2008, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for orphans, vulnerable, abandoned children, and those affected or infected by HIV/AIDS. The organization aims to meet not only the basic needs of these children—such as food, shelter, and protection—but also their emotional, psychological, educational, and physical development. By offering opportunities in education, sports, arts, and crafts, Hope Village strives to help each child reach their full potential and become productive members of society.

MoA is funding a very important project in occupational therapy, with fourth year occupational therapy students from the University of Namibia (UNAM). This is particularly important, as it focuses on enhancing the children's ability to perform daily activities, thereby improving their independence and quality of life. Occupational therapists work with children to develop fine motor skills, sensory processing abilities, and social interactions, all of which are crucial for their overall development and future fulfilment.

In addition, the older children have been able to join the UNAM choir in rehearsing and performing, thus giving them a new enjoyable, fun activity. Feedback is very positive.

Through these comprehensive services and initiatives, Hope Village Namibia addresses the multifaceted needs of vulnerable children, ensuring they receive holistic care and opportunities for a brighter future.
